What is al geiberger?

Al Geiberger, born in 1937, is a former professional golfer from the United States. He was known by the nickname "Mr. 59" due to being the first player in PGA Tour history to shoot a round of 59 during a tournament. Geiberger achieved this feat in the second round of the Danny Thomas Memphis Classic in 1977.

Throughout his career, Geiberger won 11 PGA Tour events, including the 1966 PGA Championship. He was also a member of the victorious U.S. Ryder Cup team in 1967.

After retiring from competitive golf, Geiberger became a golf instructor and course designer. He was inducted into the Southern California Golf Association Hall of Fame in 2012.
